Remigration

Another topic I have “touched upon” is “remigration.” This word is a neologism, which means coming back to where you have been driven out.I've always said that I wanted a smooth ride, but I couldn't help rocking the boat. Rocking seems to be in my genes.

Remarkable People

On the road I have traveled, I have met many remarkable people. First I name my friend and mentor the late Emile Capouya. “Mike” encouraged me over the years and published two of my books in New York.

Vienna Today

Returning to my birthplace has given me a unique opportunity of writing on Third Reich Revisionism. This topic interlinks with Violence under the Guise of Art like pieces of a puzzle to reveal how the past manifests itself in the present.

The Far Right Victorious in Austria

The National Election in Austria yesterday brought victory for the two far right parties in Austria. The FPÖ and the BZÖ together received one third of the vote. Here are quotes by Heinz-Christian Strache and Jörg Haider, their respective leaders, in German in English translation.

A Short Life

Herbert Kuhner
The life of a handsome little boy was snuffed out. He left this earth at the age of 17 months before Christmas of 2007.
His mother’s boyfriend had severely beaten him and sexually abused him.
The mother brought the injured boy to a hospital, where his physical injuries were cared for. Then the authorities returned him […]

The Fate of a Writer and Translator

Herbert Kuhner
I hate to complain. How do I write this without complaining? It’s a jeremiad, a hard luck story and there’s no way of changing that. It might be good for a laugh, but as far as I’m concerned the laugh would have to be rather a throaty one.
Here’s how my career started, way back […]

Mystery 9/11
You can say what you want, but seven years after the devastating attack on the Twin Towers
in New York shift, there are many inconsistencies. How did Mossad, the Israeli secret service, know in advance? And how is it that Jewish citizens in the USA warned […]

Henry V and The Westerner

Herbert Kuhner
The two love scenes in films that are indelible to me are between Laurence Olivier and Renée Asherson in Henry V and Gary Cooper and Doris Davenport in The Westerner. In Henry, Larry playing Harry proposes to Princess Kate after subjugating her country. He tells her that he is a man of action, not […]

Julius Streicher: A Volunteer

Herbert Kuhner
“For those who can fight, and resist, and stick together, and stick to their guns, I have the greatest respect! Yes, even if Hitler were living now, he would also admit that the Jews are a spunky race. - I would be ready to join them now and help them in their fight! - […]

Doomed to Failure

Herbert Kuhner
I wasn’t so hot about the popular music of days gone by, but at least the volume was within bounds. And even when I hear the music I wanted to hear, I didn’t want to be blasted out of my chair.
Now, music has been catapulted out of the category of music, and you can […]
