Virginia Tech Massacre
On April 16, 2007 Seung-Hui Cho a student at Virginia Tech University in Blacksburg, VA, massacred 32 students and teachers before taking his own life.
This is his motivation according to his manifesto: “Your Mercedes wasn’t enough, you brats! Your golden necklaces weren’t enough, you snobs. Your trust funds wasn’t enough. Your vodka and cognac wasn’t enough. All your debaucheries weren’t enough. Those weren’t enough to fulfill your hedonistic needs. You had everything.”
Thus, according to some, Cho thought that “by murdering he had to take action against” capitalistic greed and exploitation. The assassinated students and teachers were the means.
