It has been taboo to kill women and children. Of course that taboo has been broken again and again. But now that taboo is a thing of the past. And there are many who favor and sympathize with those who break it.

Here’s a segment from my The Good Book and Me:
The story of King Saul was also bone in my throat. Abraham had been put to the test, but Saul had to carry through. The Big Voice told him to wipe out the Amelec Tribe, man, woman, child and beast, after he had defeated them. But Saul spared a few humans and some domestic animals. That brought about his end. Samuel, the Deity’s mouthpiece, gave him the bad news and anointed David as the new king.

This goes to show that this taboo was not even adhered to in the Good Book.

Before and during World War II, the Luftwaffe engaged in saturation bombing. That meant that bombs reined on civilians from the sky. Then the Royal Air Force and the United States Air Force retaliated using the same devastation method.

Nazi Germany established death factories in which millions of civilians were fed into a giant juggernaught that transformed them into corpses. This was a very personal manner of slaughter, since the slaughterers dealt directly with the victims.

This was a giant step for mankind in mass elimination.

Today we individuals who target civilians, accompanying them to Kingdom Come. And they do this with the blessing of representatives of the Deity.

This is course of action longer taboo. It has been accepted. This method of immolation is used to transform “infidels” from life to death. And the two main religious factions also use it on each other.
The bone of contention for all seems to be the State of Israel.

Yes, unfortunately in the conflict, Israel too has killed women and children. It happens, but it is not an Israeli system or Israeli policy.

According to many this method of immolation is justified. And “if the sandal were on the other foot” the Israelis would be emulating those who engage in it.

Thus the taboo has been broken and the breaking of it approved.
