Remigration

Another topic I have “touched upon” is “remigration.” This word is a neologism, which means coming back to where you have been driven out.I've always said that I wanted a smooth ride, but I couldn't help rocking the boat. Rocking seems to be in my genes.

Remarkable People

On the road I have traveled, I have met many remarkable people. First I name my friend and mentor the late Emile Capouya. “Mike” encouraged me over the years and published two of my books in New York.

Vienna Today

Returning to my birthplace has given me a unique opportunity of writing on Third Reich Revisionism. This topic interlinks with Violence under the Guise of Art like pieces of a puzzle to reveal how the past manifests itself in the present.

Rubbing Shoulders with the Wrong People

Herbert Kuhner

These terrorists (Bader-Meinhof) thought that by murdering they had to take action against the murder of hundreds of thousands of children in Vietnam.
- Claus Peymann, Der Spiegel Online, March 13, 2007

There you have it! The distinguished German director presents the “motivation.” Let me insert that find this despicable!

Bill Ayers founded the Weather Men, whose aim was to fight against those who were sending Americans to fight and die senselessly in Vietnam. The Weather Men targeted buildings, rather than individuals, but when you bomb buildings, you’re likely to end up killing people, and that’s exactly what happened.

Justice caught up with Bill and he was put on trial, but not sentenced due to a legal technicality.

Bill wasn’t dumb and he embarked on a career in academe. He also engaged in social projects with bipartisan support. At one point in time, he rubbed shoulders with Barack Obama, who started his political career as a social worker.

My question is, wasn’t there someone qualified for academe who had not blown up buildings and killed people? Ditto for social projects.

Actually I wouldn’t want to associate with a bomber of buildings, but then I wouldn’t want to associate with a man who helped trigger off the murder of millions like Henry Kissinger.

I don’t blame a black who’s been a marine for raving and ranting. I can imagine what he’s been through.

But if he’s got a pulpit to stand in, isn’t there a more worthy tack? You can use that location for improve the lot of your fellow blacks. Actually he did that by organizing public works. However, his blanket condemnation of the nation is unproductive, to say the least.

There had been some progress, and there can be more. The past should never be forgotten and is always part of the overall picture, but the future can be better.

Obama must have heard Jeremiah Wright say what he has to say at one time or another. He said what he said with such passion that it must be his spiel. His views certainly aren’t Obama’s views, and it may not have been smart of Obama to hang around for so long.

But, what he hell, hearing passionate views on the “neighborhood,” could be the best impetus for improving it.
