Remigration

Another topic I have “touched upon” is “remigration.” This word is a neologism, which means coming back to where you have been driven out.I've always said that I wanted a smooth ride, but I couldn't help rocking the boat. Rocking seems to be in my genes.

Remarkable People

On the road I have traveled, I have met many remarkable people. First I name my friend and mentor the late Emile Capouya. “Mike” encouraged me over the years and published two of my books in New York.

Herbert Kuhner

grew up in the United States, associating with the New York City jazz and coffee scene in the 1950s. ". . I've always said that I wanted to have smooth sailing, but I couldn't help rocking the boat. Rocking seems to be in my genes". As a subtitle I’ve chosen “Stepping out of line,” which is a movement my feet can’t seem to avoid making.

Vienna Today

Returning to my birthplace has given me a unique opportunity of writing on Third Reich Revisionism. This topic interlinks with Violence under the Guise of Art like pieces of a puzzle to reveal how the past manifests itself in the present.

The GOP and the “Gay Agenda”

The Republican Party is the Party of the Righteous,
and its paladins are spearheading
the War Against the “Gay Agenda.”

Here’s Pat Buchanan, the right-wing pundit:
“Homosexuality involves sexual acts most men consider
not only immoral, but filthy.
(1)
AIDS is nature’s retribution for violating the laws of nature.
(2)
Homosexuality is not a civil right.”
(3)

And Alan Keyes, a presidential candidate:
By definition, a homosexual engages in the exchange of mutual pleasure.
It is the mutual pursuit of pleasure through the stimulation of the organs
intended for procreation…They are therefore not having sexual relations. (4)

Tom Coburn, Republican Senator from Oklahoma on the “pink menace”:
“The gay community has infiltrated the very centers of power in
every area across this country, and they wield extreme power …
That agenda is the greatest threat to our freedom that we face today.
GOP.jpg Why do you think we see the rationalization
for abortion and multiple sexual partners?
That’s a gay agenda.”
(5)
(Question. “Tom, why would gays “rationalize” abortion?”)

Better watch out! Tom means business.
“I favor the death penalty for abortionists
and other people who take life.”

Gerry Allen takes action against “the menace”:
A bill by Rep. Gerald Allen, R-Cottondale,
would prohibit the use of public funds
“for the purchase of textbooks or library materials
that recognize or promote homosexuality as an acceptable lifestyle.”

Allen said he filed the bill to protect children
from the homosexual agenda.
“Our culture, how we know it today,
is under attack from every angle.”

Allen doesn’t want to burn the books but rather:
“I guess we dig a big hole and dump them in and bury them.” (7)
Gerry’s a true god-fearing man.
He cosponsored a bill (Alabama’s HB391),
which explicitly allows the teaching of “creationism” in public schools.

CBS reports: “Gay Linguists Get the Boot! Nine Army linguists,
including six trained to speak Arabic, have been dismissed from the military
because they are gay. The soldiers’ dismissals come at a time
when the military is facing a critical shortage of translators and interpreters
for the war on terrorism.”
(8)

finger.jpgOn August 17th, just two weeks after pleading guilty to disorderly conduct,
Senator Larry Craig another “values” man and gay-basher,
wrote to a constituent: “It is unacceptable
to risk the lives of American soldiers and sailors
merely to accommodate the sexual lifestyles of certain individuals.”
(9)

Yes, Bushmen are still clobbering gays,
no matter what!
Even if it means that more of our soldiers will die.

After the Pastor Ted Haggard,
was outed by a callboy,
Larry Craig had the bad luck of making overtures
to undercover plainclothesman,
in what is erroneously called an airport “bathroom.”
(Ladies and gents, there is no tub in such locations
The word for such a venue is “toilet.”
Pardon me for quibbling!)

Don’t St. Paul cops have anything better to do
than lurk in toilet stalls?
But since Larry is a soldier in the Conservative
war on gays, perhaps this is poetic justice.)

Gay-bashing seems to be
one of the favorite games of the Right.
And guess what! Like Larry,
some of the leading born-again gay-bashers
are coming out of the closet -
involuntarily - to be exposed as being what they’ve been bashing.

What to do!

As we know, illicit sex is more thrilling than connubial sex,
and that is why sinners prefer it. According to our pious friends,
gay sex is even more iniquitous than illicit sex,
and it must follow that it must be even more thrilling
than extramarital shenanigans.

A seductress or a seducer is a deputy of the devil,
but a same-sex voluptuary must be Satan’s right-hand man -
or woman. And since a tryst with a same sex partner
is more sinful than simple extramarital sex,
something horrible could happen.

Actually, a synonym for “sinful” could be “appealing.”
That is why Conservatives fear gay-dom.
They are afraid that breaking out as gay
is not that all that impossible.

The pious ones do not believe that gay-dom comes with the genes,
so it shouldn’t be impossible to get a gay on the straight track.

Bill Maher chimes in:
“Don’t people like Larry Craig and Ted Haggard and Mark Foley
prove that being gay really is a hard-wired thing -
not, as the conservatives always claim,
a ‘lifestyle choice’? If anyone could choose not to have gay sex,
it would be these guys, since their whole careers
are built on not having gay sex.”
(10)

(I don’t know whether it’s an acquired or genetic trait.
I think it’s probably a goes both ways,
and passivity also plays a major role.)

teufel__devil.jpgThe devil never rests, and the best was to fight him is prayer and positive action -
in other words, Conversion Therapy. This is the magic wand the Conservatives wield.
CT does not refer to religious conversion, but to rather sexual conversion for gays,
although the religion is thrown in.

This there is a way out for a gay, if he wants to take it.

Actually, the Conversion Therapists and the graduates from Conversion Colleges
don’t appear or seem to be much different than they were before conversion.
But they have seen the light and they are now apparently living the kind of life
that those on the Right side of things would approve of. They invalidate the adage,
“If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, looks like a duck, it must be a duck.”

And if fantasy, which contradicts the blessed life,
enters your thoughts and dreams,
such temptations are shared by many who are also traversing
the path of righteousness. Prayer will banish them!

And speaking of temptation, oddly enough,
the more provocative and aggressive women become,
the more men seem to turn inward.

Unfortunately there are those who revel in sinful behavior.
The liberals just want to let things be.

They simply do not value the sanctity of marriage;
live and let live is their motto.

Frederick Hunt, the noted cynic, quipped:
“They don’t bother me if they don’t bother me.”
and - “chacun à son trou!”

Lady Nancy Astor, the famed liberal thinker,
put it this way: “I don’t care what people do,
as long as they don’t do it on the street
and scare the horses.”
